Job Title: Senior Transport Administrator


Location: East Exeter


Salary: £30,000 per annum, plus bonuses to be discussed at interview


Hours: Full time, 08.00am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday

The role: You will be joining a team who all support each other and work towards a common goal in positive, fast-paced environment. You will be an integral part of the Transport administration team, providing essential support on the day-to-day running and scheduling of a busy sustainable recycling firm.



Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the smooth running of the transport operation, working closely with the Customer Services team to deliver efficient service and maximise service delivery.

  • Coordinate the allocation of drivers, vehicles, and work requirements on a daily basis, ensuring maximum efficiency and effective services.

  • Conduct debriefings with drivers to discuss job issues and ensure prompt resolution.

  • Manage driver absences and reallocate work in the most commercial and effective manner.

  • Monitor driver tablet usage to ensure accurate recording of job times and weights.

  • Optimise routes to maximise productivity, taking into account time, route density, and running costs.

  • Provide a high level of customer service to both external and internal customers.

  • Work with the finance team to understand the results of the daily and weekly profit KPIs and monthly management accounts, developing strategies for improvement.

  • Be aware of and follow policies and procedures, with particular attention to standards of customer service, health and safety, and equality and diversity.


Your Experience and Skills



  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven experience of working to deadlines and meeting targets

  • Experience in co-ordination within Sales and Customer service

  • Strong IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Able to work under pressure and efficiently manage workload

  • Maintain and develop relationships with colleagues and customers

  • Ability to use initiative, seeking solutions and opportunities
