Are you an experienced Engineer with a background within the hydraulics industry? Our client is seeking a talented individual to join their team as a Depot Manager their service centre in Falmouth, Cornwall.



Job Title: Service Centre Manager/Engineer (Hydraulics Industry)



Location: Falmouth (a relocation package will be considered for the right candidate)



Hours: Full time , Mon-Fri



Salary: £45k - £55k Dependant on Experience

The Company: A well established, leading hydraulics engineering firm who supply products to a range of industries including marine, defence, aerospace, nuclear, utilities and industrial. They are a well renowned company in company in their field involved with multiple scale projects across the UK. You will be joining an extremely knowledgeable and down to earth team.



The Role: As the Depot Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the service centre, overseeing, and supervising a small team of engineers as well as ensuring efficient service delivery and meeting customer expectations. You will be proficient in supporting a wide range of managerial and services led activities in addition to being able to use your Hydraulics engineering background to support with solutions led opportunities.


Key Duties



  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the centre, ensuring the office runs smoothly and efficiently

  • Work within the guidelines of the Company Quality Management System

  • Carry out administrative tasks, ensuring accurate documentation in line with company procedures

  • Promptly act on customer enquiries and leads, directing them to appropriate Technical and Sales support staff

  • Take responsibility for developing new business targeted by the company, while also maintaining local accounts

  • Meet sales targets as agreed with the Sales Director, demonstrating improvisation to win business

  • Maintain and monitor the company CRM system quotation system, maximising potential leads and enquiries

  • Conduct engineering work at centres, on-site, and at customer's premises, as requested

  • Advise and discuss with purchasing regarding future inventory requirements or changes based on new and potential business

  • Address technical issues, challenges, and deviations from project plans promptly, implementing effective solutions and communicating with relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure installations are completed in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations

  • Ensure work is completed on time and within budget, identifying additional work and reporting information to the Engineering Director

  • Maintain accurate records of time spent on each activity on timesheets or timesheet app

  • Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met and relevant Risk Assessments are completed and conducted

  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of engineering equipment, tools, and machinery




About You



  • Background in hydraulic engineering

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Understanding of hydraulic components and systems

  • Ability to work alone or as part of team

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Energetic and able to use own initiative

  • Demonstrate ambitious standards of workmanship

  • Proven ability to meet sales targets and develop new business opportunities

  • Full clean driving licence
