Purchasing Assistant


Witham, Essex


£25,000 per annum


Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5pm, and Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm



Are you an experienced Purchasing Assistant looking for a new opportunity? Our client, a successful manufacturer based in Witham, Essex, is currently seeking a motivated individual to join their team. With excellent communication skills and great attention to detail, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Purchasing Manager and ensuring smooth operations.



Responsibilities:



  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with general administration duties, contributing to the efficiency of their team.

  • Collaborate with the Production Data Manager to provide administrative support, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.

  • Generate reports to monitor and track purchasing activities.

  • Liaise with suppliers to negotiate prices, place orders, and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Support the Purchasing Manager with raw material stock purchases, maintaining optimal levels to meet production demands.

  • Work closely with Production Team Leaders and Stores Managers to manage material use and stock levels, contributing to cost-effective and timely production.



About you:



  • You have previous purchasing experience, and you understand the intricacies of procurement and supply chain management.

  • Experience in liaising with suppliers is desirable, as it will help you build strong relationships and secure favourable terms.

  • Your excellent communication skills allow you to effectively collaborate with colleagues and external partners.

  • You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and minimising errors.

  • As the sole person in this role, you are self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
