NEW Opportunity: Payroll Specialist


🌟 Office Angels are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to join our client based in Team Valley on a temporary contract basis, starting ASAP. Our client is a reputable organisation looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join their super busy Payroll team. 🌟


Job Title: Payroll Specialist
📍 Location: Gateshead
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (37.5-hour week, 1-hour lunch)
💰 Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Contract Type: Temp/interim - approx. 4 months


🔑 Key Responsibilities:



  • Managing full end-to-end payroll with no elements outsourced, covering over 1000 heads across 20+ offices

  • Manual calculations

  • Checking timesheets to determine employee hours worked

  • Calculating correct employee pay, considering hours worked, overtime rates, taxes, national insurance payments, and other factors

  • Processing cash, cheques, and electronic employee payments

  • Processing holiday, sick, maternity, and paternity leave payments

  • Answering employee questions about timesheets and payslips

  • Distributing forms such as P45, P60, and P11d

  • Processing PAYE deductions and sending payroll information to HM Revenue and Customs

  • Obtaining and verifying direct debit banking information from employees

  • Proficient use of Ceridian Dayforce

  • Uploading and processing invoices

  • Collaborating with the HR team and wider business

  • Performing various administrative tasks, such as uploading invoices to the system, emailing files to clients, and managing contracts for HR and the wider admin team


💼 Skills:



  • Experience in processing payroll for a diverse workforce

  • Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce and other HR systems (preferred but not essential)

  • Strong attention to detail and data analysis skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage confidential information and prioritise workload

  • Knowledge of payroll best practices
