About The Job:


As a Finance Officer, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day financial management of the college. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee month-end procedures, update budgets, and supervise the Finance Assistant in handling supplier invoicing and queries. This fixed-term contract position will cover mid-August 2024 to mid-October 2025.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure accurate and timely sales billing by raising invoices, reconciling student intake, and updating advance fees list.

  • Manage credit control, including daily reconciliation, chasing overdue invoices, and processing refunds and credit notes.

  • Handle accounts payable, processing supplier invoices, updating budget spreadsheets, and resolving supplier queries.

  • Maintain petty cash records, reconcile the account, and apply for additional funds when necessary.

  • Support charities by counting and paying in funds, recording payments, and making payments to relevant organisations.


Qualifications and Experience:



  • A Levels or equivalent qualification/experience.

  • Proficient in ICT with strong skills in Excel and databases.

  • Experience working in a busy and varied office environment.


Desirable:



  • Relevant honours degree or Professional Accounting qualification.

  • Experience with SIMS and working in an educational environment.
