Our client, a dynamic and evolving organisation, is currently seeking an Audit Senior to join their Audit team. Contract Type: Permanent


Working Pattern: Full Time


Location: City of London (hybrid working, 3 days a week in the office!)


Salary: £50,000 - £56,000 + (depending on experience)

As an Audit Senior, your core objectives will include:



  • Overseeing the audit process for each job, reporting to the corresponding manager/partner.

  • Effectively supervising semi-senior and junior employees, including leading teams on assignments.

  • Producing accurate draught accounts with minimal outstanding queries and a well-presented audit file in a timely and methodical manner.


Responsibilities:



  • Working on a diverse portfolio of clients, including small and medium-sized privately owned limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders.

  • Acting as an on-site senior, responsible for planning, executing (compliance and substantive testing, analytical review, etc.), and completing audit work to a high standard.

  • Effectively supervising semi-senior and junior staff, providing training during audits, and delegating, monitoring, and reviewing their work.

  • Taking full responsibility for each audit assignment and ensuring completion within the agreed timescale with the support and guidance from the relevant manager/partner.

  • Preparing and implementing high-quality work programmes.

  • Dealing with technical issues or seeking guidance when necessary.

  • Producing draught accounts and a well-presented audit file for review.

  • Agreeing adjustments with clients and handling disclosure requirements.

  • Auditing tax computations.

  • Drafting management letters and reports.

  • Keeping senior management informed of progress.

  • Ensuring timely delivery of the audit output within specified budget timescales.


Qualifications and experience required:


Essential:



  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent is desirable.

  • Must have acquired the necessary skills and experience at a senior level.

  • Experience in accounts preparation.

  • Up-to-date working knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, auditing standards, company law, and a good basic knowledge of corporate and personal tax.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good English, both written and verbal.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Flexible attitude, with the ability to prioritise workloads.
